At Carmencita, we are delighted to have received the CLARA Foodie Award for Innovation for our Air Fryer seasoning range. This recognition means a great deal to us. It celebrates one of our most recent and successful launches. The award reinforces our commitment to supporting new ways of cooking. We provide practical, flavour-packed solutions designed for real everyday kitchens.
CLARA magazine, part of the RBA publishing group, recently held the first edition of its Foodie Awards, created to recognise brands, products, and experiences shaping trends in food, nutrition, innovation, and lifestyle. In this inaugural edition, our Air Fryer seasonings were recognised for bringing flavour, convenience, and versatility to one of the kitchen appliances that has transformed home cooking in recent years.
Our CEO, Jesús Navarro Alberola, personally collected the award during the event in Barcelona, held in the unique setting of El Jardí de l’Abadessa.
“I’m truly delighted to receive this award,” he said after accepting the prize. “It has been a pleasure to be part of an event surrounded by brands, professionals, and media outlets that genuinely understand the importance of bringing food closer to people’s everyday lives.”
For us, this award represents far more than a successful product range. It reflects the way we understand innovation: observing how people cook, listening to what they need, and creating blends that make everyday cooking easier without compromising on flavour. Air fryers have become an essential part of many households, and we wanted to be there with seasonings designed to elevate everyday dishes such as chicken, potatoes, vegetables, and fish.
Jesús Navarro Alberola reflected on our family roots and our strong connection to our heritage.
“We are a family business, and we are proud of it,” he noted.
And, with the sense of humour that is also part of the Carmencita spirit, he added a remark that perfectly captures our relationship with spices:
“My age is down to cinnamon.”
The event brought together more than 50 guests, including award winners, content creators, brand representatives, and executives from the RBA group, among them Berta Castellet and Enrique Blanc, as well as the editorial team from CLARA magazine, led by director Empar Prieto. The ceremony was hosted by Marta Verona, chef, nutritionist, food content creator, and winner of MasterChef 6 — now recognised as one of the leading voices in healthy cooking on social media.
This first edition of the CLARA Foodie Awards also honoured a number of prestigious brands and initiatives linked to food, innovation, and everyday enjoyment, including Danone, California Walnuts, Sigfrido, Protos, Nocilla, and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Together, they reflected the growing role food plays in everyday life — not only from a nutritional perspective, but also through enjoyment, practicality, and curiosity.
During the event, Jesús Navarro Alberola also shared his appreciation for print media and its connection with everyday readers.
“I’m a great reader of weekly magazines. They’re an easy and enjoyable way to stay informed,” he commented. “That’s why this recognition is especially meaningful to us. It comes from a publication that is deeply connected to the everyday lives of its readers — to the kind of home cooking prepared during the week: uncomplicated, practical, and without giving up on eating well.”
Receiving the CLARA Foodie Award for Innovation encourages us to continue developing new blends, new formats, and new ways of bringing spices into homes everywhere. Because for Carmencita, innovation does not mean moving away from who we are. It means finding new ways to continue doing what we have always done: helping every dish taste even better.
