Provençal herbs

Carmencita offers this warm mixture of Mediterranean aromatic garden herbs, originally from the Provencal region, made with oregano, rosemary, basil, thyme, winter savoury and marjoram.

Traditionally used in recipes for roast chicken, roasted lamb, grilled fish and any roasted or filled vegetable, giving them a fresh, natural flavour, this mixture is also part of many everyday recipes for soups, stews, pasta, pizza, and many sauces, especially tomato sauces.

Tip for getting the most out of Provençal herbs:

ry marinating the Provençal herbs in an oil bottle with a good virgin oil for lightly dressing salads, meats and fish. Spread this oil, without filtering out the herbs, on any meat before placing it in the oven: it will become like a rind and give a delicious perfume to your dish.

As a final touch add a pinch of Provençal herbs to the hot coals of your grill to smoke the stews you cook there.
