Carmencita has welcomed a delegation of clients from the People’s Republic of China to its facilities in Spain. The group, comprising importers and distributors of the Carmencita brand in the HORECA channel for the mainland market, marks a new milestone in the company’s consolidation in one of the world’s fastest-growing international markets.
The delegation, comprising senior executives and key decision-makers, was accompanied by several of their main buyers. Notably, representatives from restaurant chains in China were also in attendance, where paella has become a flagship dish on their menus.
With nearly a decade of commercial partnership, this is the first time Carmencita’s Chinese partners have visited the company’s facilities in Spain, representing a significant milestone in the evolution of their collaboration. The visit reflects stronger ties and a shared commitment to further developing the brand within the Chinese market.
During the visit, guests had the opportunity to experience the full production process first-hand—from the handling of raw materials through to product manufacturing and packaging. Particular interest was shown in the production of Carmencita’s paella seasoning mix and paprika, two of the brand’s most prominent products in China’s HORECA channel and key drivers in the expansion of Spanish cuisine across the market.
Importers are especially focused on products they perceive as distinctive and authentic, reinforcing Carmencita’s positioning as a trusted supplier of essential ingredients that preserve the original flavours of Spanish cuisine—particularly in the preparation of paella.
This visit forms part of Carmencita’s broader strategy to strengthen its footprint in mainland China, with a clear focus on the HORECA channel and the growth of Spanish cuisine restaurants. Local partners play a pivotal role in this expansion, leading the development of such establishments and championing authenticity as a key differentiator.
For Carmencita, this meeting represents a significant step forward in its international strategy and reinforces its role as a strategic partner in promoting Spanish gastronomy in key global markets. The company remains committed to consolidating its presence in China while supporting its partners in the continued growth of this segment.
