Carmencita’s installations received the visit of part of the Basque Culinary Center (BCC) team, one of the most worldwide prestigious academic institutions in the gastronomic field. This visit had the goal of strengthening the ties between both entities and seeing firsthand Carmencita’s modern installations, known as the most advanced ones of the spices sector in Europe.

This meeting is part of the collaboration agreement signed in February of this year between Carmencita and the Basque Culinary Center, whose objective is enhancing innovation in the use of spices and the formation of future chefs.

During the visit, the BCC team, formed of Idoia Esnaola (Business Development Manager), Aurkene Gil (Carmencita’s Manager at BCC) and Mikel Oñatibia (Responsible for New Agreements and Business Development), were received by the I+D, Quality, Marketing and Communications teams as well as a representation of Carmencita’s directive team, including Managing Director, Jesús Navarro Alberola.

Jesús Navarro Alberola offered a detailed presentation about the history and development of the Carmencita brand, making emphasis on the commitment of the company with innovation and quality. “We are very interested in strengthening ties with the Basque Culinary Center to support the development of the gastronomy of the future and collaborate in the development of new products that cater to the necessities of professional chefs”, said Navarro Alberola.

After this, a guided tour was made through Carmencita’s new factory, where the BCC representatives were able to witness the rigorous quality controls that are implemented, as well as the grinding process which ensures the authenticity and pureness of the spice mixes.

The BCC team was pleasantly surprised by Carmencita’s firm commitment with quality and innovation to create solutions for professional chefs.

This meeting reinforces the collaboration agreement signed in San Sebastian and underlines the shared compromise of both institutions to boost gastronomy and encouraging the training of future chefs. The signing of this agreement and the shared actions are key steps to consolidate Carmencita as a referent in innovation and quality within the sector, as the same time as it encourages the new generation of chefs on their training and their career development.
